Fetal & Infant Mortality Review (FIMR)
The overall goal of FIMR is to enhance the health and well-being of women, infants and families by improving the community resources and service delivery systems available to them.
FIMR Coordinators: Susan Bonhotal, RN, MSN and Diana Simpson, RN
FIMR Case Review Team - reviews all fetal (greater than 20 weeks gestation) and infant deaths in Vanderburgh and surrounding counties. The FIMR CRT meets quarterly. Check our News & Events for dates and times.
FIMR Community Action Team - members of RPAB, review FIMR statistics to decrease mortality through implementation of community changes.

PEP (Perinatal Education Partners)
An organization formed by education committees of the March of Dimes, Regional Perinatal Advisory Board, Mead-Johnson, AWOHN, U of E and USI.
The goal is to offer eduation to professional providers in the tri-state area that will improve the quality of perinatal care and decrease infant mortality and morbidity. The PEP Committee presents an annual conference in the Tri-State each fall.

Perinatal Substance Abuse Committee
The Perinatal Substance Abuse Committee is comprised of area healthcare and social services providers who assess community needs and problems associated with pregnant substance abusers.
The overall goals are to educate professionals, pregnant women and the community at large about the problems and risks associated with substance abuse among pregnant women and the benefits of intervention. This committee is on temporary hold.

Consumer Educational Subcommittee
The Consumer Educational Subcommittee is responsible for reviewing and analyzing findings from the fetal and infant mortality review (FIMR) process, and reviewing other pertinent community trends and developing educational materials, programs, and media tools (such as public service announcements, billboards, and bus cards) to address them in an effort to increase consumer knowledge about ways to minimize fetal and infant mortality. This committee is on temporary hold.
