I am pregnant and have no health insurance, how do I get Medicaid?

For new Medicaid guidelines call 1-800-403-0864 or go to www.in.gov/fssa to complete an application for food stamps, Medicaid and Hoosier Healthwise. Instructions will be given for required documentation. Call the local Pregnancy Care Helpline for information at 812-435-5333.



I am pregnant and have no doctor, how do I find one?

Medicaid: Hoosier Healthwise is a health insurance program for IN children, pregnant women and low income families. Local enrollment centers include: Vanderburgh County Health Department (812-435-5333), Deaconess Family Practice (812-450-6044), ECHO Community Health (812-452-3122), CAPE (Community Action Program of Evansville, 812-452-3122), or Youth First (812-421-8336). No Health Insurance: Apply for Medicaid (Hoosier Healthwise). If you are not eligible for Medicaid, call one of the public clinics (Deaconess Family Practice 812-450-6044 or ECHO Community Health 812-421-7489) for an appointment. They will help you work out a payment plan based on your income.
